Parkinson’s disease is a disorder that is insidious in nature, progresses slowly and affects cells of the brain. Certain cells located in particular parts of our brain produce dopamine that ensures fluent and controlled movement. When degeneration of these cells stops production and secretion of dopamine, signs of Parkinson’s disease emerge. The disease may affect both sexes. Although Parkinson’s disease can be detected at younger ages, it is more common at 40 to 75 years of age, but especially in the age group of 50 years.
