Weight Loss Drug Saxenda Experience | Lifting Weights, Healthy Eating, Vacation Weight Lost

Published
My weight loss journey 21st week on Saxenda/Liraglutide. My week started out with less than stellar eating habits, but ended the week strong. I am in a good exercise routine at four days per week with good strength training. My bathroom habits are good to go, and I have lost the weight I gained from vacation. Finally, I wrap everything up with my usual positive/inspirational word.

Saxenda (liraglutide) is an injectable prescription medicine (diabetes version Victoza) used for those with excess weight/obesity to help them lose weight. It is very similar to other medications on the market such as Wegovy/Ozempic/Rybelsus (semaglutide), Mounjaro (trizepatide), Trulicity (dulaglutide), Byetta/Bydureon (exenatide), and Adlyxin (lixisenatide).

One of the reasons why it's so hard to lose weight is because changes in your appetite affect hormone levels. When you lose weight, your body increases the hunger hormone and decreases the fullness hormones. Saxenda works like GLP-1 by regulating your appetite, which can lead to eating fewer calories and losing weight. It should be used with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.
