Tragic Perth hotel fire leaves three dead and 11 needing treatment at the scene

Three people have been confirmed dead following a fire at a hotel in Perth.

Fire and ambulance crews were called to County Place in the Fair City at around 5.10am following reports of a blaze breaking out at the New County Hotel.

At the height of the blaze, Scottish Fire and Rescue had nine fire appliances in attendance with over 60 firefighters battling the inferno, which also left 11 people requiring treatment at the scene and a dog dead.
