It is a MYTH that OBESITY is a simple matter of Calories In vs Calories Out. Your body is not a closed energy system; you are not a physics experimenmt in a lab! Not all the food you eat is converted to fuel; a lot of the food is used for building and repair. Tissues need to be repaired, new cells grown, and hormones produced. Then the calories available to you in the "fuel" portion of your food may or may not be accessible, depending on your age, your health, and your metabolism. Far more important than the overall calorie count of your food, is the quality of the food, ie WHAT YOU EAT. If you eat over processed, high sugar foods that cause inflammation and erratic hormone responses, you are going to be unable to burn some of the fuel, which will then be stored as excess body fat, and you will become obese with fat you cannot burn until you correct your metabolism with good food.
It suits the food companies to make millions of dollars selling you convenient, processed, carb-rich "food" that disrupts your metabolism and your health, while promoting the "calories in vs calories out" myth to keep the blame on you. Obesity is not down to "Greed and Laziness"; Obesity is a metabolic condition caused by unhealthy foods.
