The Black Death, or Bubonic Plague, is arguably the deadliest disease in human history. at its peak during the 14th Century, it devastated Asia, the Middle East and Europe. An estimated 100 to150 million people died over a few short years, at a time where the world’s population was around 350 million. Those infected by the plague would die in only a few days, often in extreme agony, unaware of the cause and unable to receive any meaningful treatment.
