Sporotrichosis (Rose Gardener’s Disease): Causes, Risk Factors, Types, Symptoms, Diagnosis and Treatment

Sporotrichosis (also known as Rose Gardener’s Disease) is a fungal infection caused by dimorphic fungi of the genus Sporothrix. It has multiple subtypes of clinical features, including lymphocutaneous, pulmonary, osteoarticular, meningeal and disseminated types. In this lesson, we discuss the risk factors of getting this condition, signs and symptoms of the different subtypes, how it is diagnosed and how it is treated.
