Shoulder Cuff Release and Joint Mobilisation Treatment - PART ONE | Tim Keeley | Physio REHAB

#shoulder #jointmobilisation #rotatorcuff

Had a few requests to show how we do release work on the rotator cuff and joint mobilisation, for people with shoulder pain, painful arc and impingement type presentations.

To help improve ROM of the shoulder through external rotation, flexion and abduction - we focus on what structures are tight first - like with with Elise here her external rotators infraspinatus and teres minor are tight from being weak, as the posterior deltoid is tight from compensating to help the posterior cuff. Tightness and guarding like this isn't that helpful for movement so the deep tissue release work aids in getting her doing her rehab work to strengthen it, and improve the overhead movement patterning in the joint.
