Learn about participatory medicine and how the Society for Participatory Medicine is working to transform the culture of healthcare — in our latest episode featuring Dr. Danny Sands. Dr. Sands joins us from Boston, where he holds an academic appointment at Harvard Medical School and sees patients at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He is also a co-founder of the Society for Participatory Medicine.

The Society for Participatory Medicine is a not-for-profit organization devoted to promoting the practice of participatory medicine, which enables collaborative communication and information sharing among patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals. Participatory medicine is a movement in which patients and health professionals actively collaborate and encourage one another as full partners in healthcare.

The society is planning a new series of events called “Creative Learning Exchanges.” The first one, which will be focused on community health access and equity, takes place in Boston on Oct. 20. It will be a very interactive event — available both in-person and virtually. The event is free for society members, and anyone else can register here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/creative-learning-exchange-community-health-access-and-equity-tickets-403821971387

Corporate sponsorship opportunities are available.

The society publishes the Journal of Participatory Medicine, which is a peer-reviewed, open access journal that aims to advance the understanding and practice of participatory medicine amongst both health care professionals and patients. You can read it here https://jopm.jmir.org/
