All About Herbs

Currently there is a lot of discussion about herbs. But what are herbs?
Herbs are medicinal plant that have many uses and values in traditional medicine against diseases. In general, herbs are group of plant components but are not include vegetables and other plant components that are macronutrients in human nutrition.
The benefit of herbs are to prevent and cure diseases, perform biological function, and prevent insect and fungal attacks.
Herbs have many types such as ginger, tumeric, coriander, paper, betel, kumis kucing, etc.
Okay everyone, i will explain some types of herbs.
1) Ginger (Zingiber officinale)
Ginger is a plant whose rhizomes are often used as spices and traditional medicine. The active compounds contained in ginger are so strong that they can overcome many digestive problems such as stomachache, nausea, dizziness, and reduce menstrual and joint pain.
2) Betel (Piper betle)
We can use betel for herb medicine too. Betel is such a antioxidant plant that it can accelerat blood clotting and heal wounds. Chewing betel leaf has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria in the body.
3) Kumis Kucing (Orthosiphon aristatus)
In Indonesian we call this 'kumis kucing'. Kumis kucing are medicinal plant from Indonesia that have many benefit and uses in tackling various diseases. This herb is so anti-inflammatory that it can control the symptoms of allergies, gout, and kidney disease.
Okay, those are some explanation about the types of herbs.
Herbs are indeed very good for health, but consuming in excess can have negative effect on health.
