Published
An epidemiological report into a mysterious neurological disease in New Brunswick has found no known exposure in the province that could have triggered the symptoms.

Health Minister Dorothy Shepherd released the report as part of an investigation into a cluster of 48 patients who have the potential neurological syndrome of unknown cause.

She says it has ruled out food, environmental and other common exposures as risk factors, but says the province is still working to determine what took place.

The report says all 48 patients have shown symptoms similar to those associated with Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease but have tested negative for known forms of human prion diseases.
