Many people don't know about a medicinal flower called "Kutaja", called wrightia zeylancia in English. Some of us know about Kutajarishta, an ayurvedic medicine given for stomach problems. Similarly, the kutaja flowers were used by our elders during rainy days to prevent stomach upsets and to balance the heat+cold nature of the body. Intake of kutaja flower in our daily food is very healthy during rainy season. So, preparation starts during summer days when the flowers are available at the hills. flowers are collected and sun-dried. The details about this process is clearly explained in this video. And also preparation of "Tambuli" from the flower is also shown here. So the purpose of the video is to save a food of medicinal value.

Ingredients:

For preserving-
Kutaja flowers (Wrightia zeylancia)
salt a pinch, water 2-3 tsp

For Tambuli-
ghee - 1-2 tsp
jeera seeds- 1 tsp
pepper seeds- few
grated coconut - 1 cup
butter milk- 1/2 cups
salt to taste
water to adjust the consistency.
