Preparation strategy for SSC-CPO (Sub-Inspector) Exam

Preparation tips or strategy for Central Police Officer (CPO)- Sub-Inspector Exam explained comprehensively by Sir Roland Khongsai, CRPF Sub-Inspector.

SSC-CPO examination has 5 stages of recruitment process viz., Paper-I , PET/PST, Paper-II, DME (Detail Medical Examination) and DV (Documents Verification). The final selection list is declared after DV.

Schemes of Exam
Stage - 1 ;
Paper- I : 200 Marks. It is Computer Based Exam (CBE)
Part - A : General Intelligence and Reasoning
Part - B : General Knowledge and General Awareness
Part - C : Quantitative Aptitude
Part - D : English Comprehension

All section of Paper-I has 50 marks each and there is a high chance of clearing Paper-I exam as it has no sectional cut off.

Stage - 2;
PET/PST : Physical Endurance Test / Physical Standard Test.

PET for Males ;
1. 1.6 km race in 6.5 minutes (6 minutes 30 seconds).
2. 100 metres in 16 seconds
3. Long jump : 3.65 metres
4. High Jump : 1.2 metres
5. Shot put : 16 lbs; 4.5 metres.

PET for Females
1. 800 metres Race in 4 minutes
2. 100 m race in 18 seconds
3. High Jump : 1.2 metres
For both males and females, excluding 1.6km race and 800 metres race, you will be given three chances in all other Physical Endurance Test.

Physical Standard Test is done on the same day with PET. PST is done after PET.

For Males ;
Height ;
UR - 170 cm
ST - 162.5 cm
Chest
Unexpaneded - 80 cm
Expanded - 85 cm

Females
UR - 157 cm
ST - 154 cm
Chest
Unexpaneded - 77 cm
Expanded - 82 cm
Weight ; Proportional to Height.

Stage - 3.
Paper-II ; English Language and Comprehension.

This exam is Computer Based Examination as well. It is 200 marks and of objective type questions.

Stage - 4 ;
Detail Medical Examination (DME).
Candidates will be examined thoroughly by a Medical Officers.
Reasons for rejection ; Knock knee, Vericose vein, poor vision, squint in eyes, tattoo, etc².


Stage - 5
Documents Verification (DV).
All the related or required documents will be verified by the SSC at regional office.

Final Merit list will be declared after completing all the recruitment processes.
