Physical Examination of the Pediatric Knee

Published
Watch and hear Philip L. Wilson, M.D., perform a physical exam of the knee in a pediatric female model. Children and adolescent patients often present with non-specific knee pain. Differential diagnoses discussed include patellofemoral pain, Sinding-Larson Johannsen disease, Osgood Schlatter's disease, and cartilage and ligament injuries such as anterior cruciate ligament tear.

Observe standing, walking and squatting to see quality of movement and physical strength which all contribute to pain and risk of knee injury in young and growing children.
