"I think we need a lot more focus, a lot more investment into technological assessment. What is going on with these technologies? What is their likely impact actually going to be? And how does that inform how we respond to them as a public but also how governments can respond to them. instead of having this common narrative that the government can't keep up, that it doesn't have the expertise. The government can build that expertise in order to be able to properly respond to technologies, in order to regulate them properly. And I think that's something we need a lot more of."
