One size does not fit all, be wary of claims by retail stores!

Published
Over the last several months, we have seen multiple patients come to the office seeking treatment after indicating that they went into a retail store that advertises and sells what they claim are custom orthotics. Ultimately, these patients have spent between $1500-1800 dollars for off the shelf devices sold by salespeople and not a medical specialist, without improvement in their pain. There is no simple and quick fix for most medical problems. As stated in the video, orthotics are generally the backend of treatment. A diagnosis requires a comprehensive medical examination, review of the medical history, and frequently includes x-rays, all performed by a medical specialist. Podiatrist specialize in all conditions of the foot and ankle. Additionally, most medical services including orthotics are covered may be covered by health insurance.

If it sounds too good to be true then it’s probably because it is! Do not be fooled by savvy advertising.
