In this short video, Dr. Doug Munoz, Queens University professor and ONDRI co-lead, explains how ONDRI researchers are making progress in developing biomarkers of neurodegeneration through the eye tracking platform.
Specifically, he reviews how multiple areas of the brain are involved in controlling eye movements, and how differences in pupil response rates to stimuli -- between healthy cohorts and cohorts of people living with #neurodegenerative disease -- can be indicators of disease present in the brain.
Video adapted from Dr. Munoz's presentation at the ONDRI research initiative's Community Engagement Day, January 2022.
