Medical Moulages: Impressions of Medical Illustration

Medical moulages were an important pedagogical modality for animating anatomical science in the 17th and 18th centuries. This talk will introduce medical moulages to those who aren’t familiar and further explore the culture and use of moulages within medical education of the 20th Century. Specific attention will be given to dermatological disorders and the diversity of medical illustration and representation.
