Ragi as you all know is a powerhouse of Calcium. It has 10x more Calcium than Rice or wheat. So here is one of our innovative recipes for making Ragi Upma.
Ingredients :
1 cup wheat suji
1 ragi flour
2 Tsp oil
Ginger
Green chilli/red chilli
Curry leaves
1/4 tsp cumin seeds
1/4 tsp urad dal
1 tomato
Cashews
Water
Method Of Preparation
* In a kadhai, heat oil
* Add mustard seeds and urad dal. Let it splutter
* Next add in curry leaves and cashew
* Fry for a few minutes
* Add chillies (optional) and grated ginger.Fry them well
* Now go the tomatoes.
* Add salt. Give it a good mix
* Cover and let it cook till tomato turns soft & mushy
* To this mixture, add suji and fry for a few minutes before adding in ragi
* Add water little by little. Mixing everything well while doing so
* Cover the lid and allow the upma to cook
* Dont forget to Garnish with coriander leaves
* Serve with homemade chutney or plain if your kids like it that way!
