Dupuytren's disease is a hereditary disorder. The disease can be seen in anyone of European decent. A typical indication for surgery is if you cannot place your hand flat on a table. Other indications include any contracture of the proximal interphalangeal joint or a 30 degrees contracture at the metacarpophalangeal joint.
