Keratoconus - Latest Treatment | T-CAT + C3R | केरेटोकोनस के लेटेस्ट इलाज से 6/6 की नज़र मिली

Published
Mr. Akshay Singla (19) is from Barana, Punjab.
He has recently qualified for the NEET exam and currently doing MBBS from Indore, Maharashtra.

He was suffering from a corneal disorder named Keratoconus. Keratoconus (ker-uh-toe-KOH-nus) occurs when your cornea — the clear, dome-shaped front surface of your eye — thins and gradually bulges outward into a cone shape.

He came all the way from Punjab to Eye7 Hospital, New Delhi for his treatment.
He underwent the latest treatment of Keratoconus, T-CAT with C3R which was performed by Dr. Rahil Chaudhary himself, and fortunately achieved 6/6 vision after the treatment.

About TCAT with C3R
"T-CAT with C3R" (Topo-guided Custom Ablation Treatment with Corneal Collagen Cross-Linking with Riboflavin)
It is also called Topo-guided Epi Contoura with C3R. It is like a LASIK surgery for Keratoconus patients.

This new technique for Keratoconus Treatment has two major advantages:
1. Keratoconus is stabilized (using C3R)
2. It also smooths the Corneal surface simultaneously (using Epi Contoura)
hence enabling Keratoconus Patients to see more clearly with glasses than ever before.

Most important Information:
This is NOT a Specs Removal Surgery for Keratoconus Patients, It can only improve "the vision with glasses".

For a few keratoconus patients with good corneal thickness, a slight specs power can also be corrected during this surgery but it is not possible to remove the glasses completely.

In order to completely get rid of glasses or hard contact lenses,
Keratoconus patients first need to get C3R or T-CAT with C3R and then after 3 months, they need to get ICL Surgery or Intacs Rings surgery done.
