After hearing yet ANOTHER story of a traumatized person being judged, medicated and dismissed by the mental health system, I'm coming out with my opinion of why the scattered, usually outdated approach to treating people suffering from CLEAR symptoms of early trauma is a human rights issue. Your insurance and tax dollars are funneled only into treatments approved by tired governing bodies driven by unreliable pharmaceutical "research" and ideologically driven philanthropy. There is virtually no accountability to ensure the use of public and insurance resources goes only toward treatments that are effective, evidence-based, timely, and accessible. In this video I take apart feel-good platitudes and advice that's more about preserving the status quo than finding a breakthrough for those who suffer. For the sake of all trauma survivors, it's time to break free of a system that robs too many of solutions and sovereignty over their healing.
