Perhaps the most scarce tool on the medical wards, after the tendon hammer, is the medical tuning fork. Often sat in the bottom of a draw until it is needed, I find the tuning fork a core part of my medical kit

I will regularly use a medical tuning fork to assess a patient's cranial nerves, check peripheral nerves, examining neurological cases, there are even ways that the humble tuning fork can be used in expedition medicine

In this video, we will compare the 128 Hz tuning with the 512 Hz tuning fork and look at the scenarios where you would want to pick one over the other for your clinical examinations
