HEALTHY DRUMSTICK RASAM

Drumstick helps in purifying the blood of toxins and making our organs function better. They further act as a potent antibiotic agent. Consuming drumsticks on a regular basis may help you streamline blood circulation well. Constantly changing weather and hectic lifestyle takes a toll on the immune system.
Drumsticks are rich in proteins and minerals and are extremely healthy. Since it is rich in calcium and iron and vitamins, consumption of drumsticks helps build strong bones. It purifies blood, improves immune system and helps in digestion.



INGREDIENTS

1 drumstick

1/4 cup cooked dal water [ optional ]

Lemon size tamarind soaked in 1  cup hot water

500 ml water

½ tsp turmeric

1 or 2 tomatoes chopped

1 tbsp rasam pwdr

Salt to taste

½ tsp pepper pwdr

Few curry leaves

2 tsp Oil

1 tsp jeera + mustard seeds

Pinch of fenugreek seeds

2 red chilli

1 tbsp crushed garlic

Pinch of asafoetida

METHOD
Soak tamarind in 1 cup hot waster and extract juice.
Take the tamarind juice + 500 ml water + turmeric + asafoetida

Tomato + rasam pwdr + curry leaves + pepper pwdr + salt  .
Keep on low flame and bring to a boil.
Boil for 10 mins .
After 10 mins add the drumstick + dal paste and mix well.
Boil and cook for 10 mins till the drumstick is cooked.
boil the rasam on medium flame for 2 mins.
Add coriander leaves and off the flame.
Heat oil in a small pan .
Add mustard seeds + jeera + fenugreek seeds and let them crackle.
Add red chilli + curry leaves and give a mix .
Add garlic and stir fry for few seconds .
Pour this over the rasam
Serve hot with soft rice or have like soup .
