3 Chicken Breasts
1 Medium Carrot
1 Medium Onion
3 Cloves Garlic
3 1/2 Cups Rice
4 cups Water

1/2 tsp Turmeric
1 tsp Black Pepper (whole, not ground)
3 Laurel Leaves
1 tsp Curry Powder
Dry Garlic Powder to taste
Salt and pepper to taste


1. Cut up chicken breasts into smaller, bite-sized pieces. Marinade in a zipper bag approximately 15-20 minutes with olive oil, turmeric, dry garlic powder, and any other spices you like.
2. Prep: Dice onion, mince garlic, and cut up carrots in bite-sized pieces.
3. Brown diced onion, then add the garlic and carrot to the pan and fry a minute or two more.
4. On a separate oven-safe frying pan, sear pieces of chicken breast.
5. Add in the browned onion, garlic, and carrots.
6. Add curry powder, laurel leaves, black pepper corns, and season with salt and pepper.
7. Add 4 cups of hot water.
8. Put the oven-safe pan into the oven preheated to 365 F and bake for 30-35 minutes.
