Foot and mouth disease outbreak would have a 'devastating impact'

Wilmot Cattle Company’s Stuart Austin says a foot and mouth disease outbreak in Australia would have a “devastating impact”.

“It would only take one case in Australia … all livestock movements stop, all the international trade partners hear about that one case and straight away we lose our FMD free status,” Mr Austin told Sky News host Erin Molan.

“And that immediately shuts all the international trade borders.”
