Every 60sec a family receives water

Published
World Vision has compelling, research-based statements for our global impact. One of them speaks 'Every 60 seconds a family gets water.'
Margaret, 13, lives in Kiweza village, Kasambya sub county in Kibaale district of Western Uganda. The people in her community had challenges accessing clean water. The existing water source, was a dirty pond shared with animals and the water was not fit for human consumption. Children would get sick from many diseases, and also miss out on school, since they walked long distances to get water.
World Vision constructed a solar powered, piped water system, pumping 8,000 liters of clean water per hour, and reaching out to 11,000 community members.
Now Margaret and her family have a piped water stand within their homestead, they do not have to worry about getting sick and getting late for classes.
