Enhanced primary wastewater treatment

Kemira KemConnect™ PT is a digital solution to optimize the chemical wastewater pre-treatment process. It enables various efficiency improvements downstream. The solution is designed to maximize the energy savings and energy production of a wastewater treatment plant while maintaining a consistent treatment level within a minimum and maximum range. The implementation of such a system can limit or prolong the need for major plant capacity expansion. At the same time it addresses sustainability goals.

The main goal is to settle just the right amount of primary solids to alleviate most of the burden on the aeration process, hence lowering the energy required for aeration. The second objective is to increase the production of biogas by increasing the amount of more easily biodegradable sludge sent from the primary treatment step to the digestors as opposed to secondary sludge, which is much harder for the bacteria to digest.
