The Mediterranean diet, which is highly recommended, includes olive oil as a mainstay. Because the Mediterranean diet is so highly suggested, everyone should head straight to their local grocery shop and start cooking using olive oil. Isn't it simple? In one sense, yes...but is anything ever truly that simple?
As previously said, olive oil is abundant in antioxidants. Antioxidants can help minimize the damage caused by oxidative stress produced by high blood sugar levels, lowering the risk of diabetes complications such as diabetic neuropathy, retinal neuropathy, high blood pressure, and heart disease.
