COVID-19: Alberta continues to see decline in overall case numbers | FULL

Published
Alberta's chief medical officer of health, Dr. Deena Hinshaw, announced Tuesday that the province continues to see an overall decline in COVID-19 cases.

There were 422 new cases of COVID-19 identified over the previous 24 hours in the province.

Hospital numbers are also continuing to decline, with 608 people in hospital with the disease, 128 of whom were in ICU as of Tuesday.

Alberta has also begun administering a new monoclonal antibody treatment for COVID-19.

Sotrovimab was recently approved for treatment of COVID-19.

The treatment is being rolled out across the province in a phased approach.

Albertans are being reminded that Sotrovimab is not a replacement for COVID-19 vaccines.
