They are called the neglected tropical diseases - twenty devastating ailments, including elephantiasis, leprosy, trachoma, and guinea worm - that afflict the world's poorest people, most of them in Africa. And now with the foreign aid budgets of western countries being cut, millions more are at risk from these preventable diseases that kill, blind, maim and disfigure their victims.
