Classification and introduction of cysts/ oral pathology lecture

Cyst is a pathological cavity lined by epithelium and lumen contain semisolid fluid. Cyst is mainly composed of three parts
i. Epithelium
ii. Connective tissue capsule
iii. Central lumen
Inflammation i often present which can distort its normal morphology.
Cyst is broadly classified in two groups on the basis of cells invloved in its devolpment.
1. Odontogenic cyst
2. Devolpmental cyst (fissural cyst)
