Dr Estela Gonzalez, from The Pirbright Institute, with a PhD in Microbiology and Parasitology Estela studies insects that spread diseases, like mosquitoes and investigates new strategies to control their population.

In this video Estela explores her research into vector-borne diseases, how they are transmitted, and the effects of global changes on their transmission. With a focus on mosquito-borne diseases, specifically malaria and the mosquito Anopheles, and the new genetic control strategies under development.
