Canada Waved Off Medical Exams for 180,000 TR & PR Applicants | IRCC | Canada Immigration 2022
For up to 180,000 candidates for temporary and permanent residency who are currently in Canada and meet certain requirements, Immigration Minister Sean Fraser is suspending the requirement for medical exams.
The change coincides with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) moving toward a fully digital, online processing system and the addition of up to 1,250 immigration workers in Canada. Both of the two actions are meant to hasten the processing of applications.
Immigration is a human issue. In this wonderful land we call home, it's about beginning a new job, reconnecting a family, and building a new life, said Fraser in a statement.
The people, our clients, must be at the centre of all we do as we aim to strengthen our immigration system by modernizing our technology. We can provide newcomers and citizens with the warm welcome they deserve by allocating resources where they are required and utilizing technology to speed up processing and make applying simpler for our clients.
