Book launch: Advancing Children’s Rights in Detention

Published
Join Professor Ursula Kilkelly and Pat Bergin for the launch of their new book ‘Advancing Children’s Rights in Detention: A Model for International Reform’. The event includes important insights from Professor Ann Skelton (University of Pretoria, Committee on the Rights of the Child), Benoit Van Keirsbilck (Committee on the Rights of the Child and Director DCI-Belgium) and Professor Nancy Dowd (University of Florida Levin College of Law). The event was chaired by Bruce Adamson (Children and Young People's Commissioner Scotland).

Drawing on Ireland’s experience of transforming law, policy and practice and combining theory with real-life experiences, this compelling book demonstrates how a progressive rights-based approach to child detention can be implemented.
