Bipolar disorder which is clinically known as ‘manic depression’. It is a mental condition have extreme mood swings. These are emotional highs (mania or hypomania) and emotional lows (depression).
Those people who have bipolar disorder can have periods. In emotional high periods they would feel extreme happiness and full of energy. On the other hand, in low periods, they would feel very sad, hopeless, and sluggish.
They would feel normal between these two extreme periods. These two periods considered as two ‘poles’ of mood. That’s why it is called ‘bipolar’.
There is no set pattern for the dramatic episodes of high and low moods in bipolar disorder. It may be same state (depressed or manic) several times before switching to opposite.
These episodes can occur in weeks, months, and even years. It varies person to person; one has serious and other may have minor episodes.
There is no such preventive measure for bipolar disorder. You should pay heed to your doctor for greater recovery. You can somehow prevent this from being worse.
