In this video, Saniya's good friend, soon-to-be minted Dr. Melissa Jay, Ph.D., talks about Bayesian Disease mapping and age-adjusted rates and Bayesian hierarchical models for disease mapping. These topics are really important for the field of biostatistics, epidemiology, and public health at large! These were also key components to her dissertation, so we are hearing from a subject matter expert on using statistical models to create disease maps (even more relevant given the on-going Covid-19 pandemic!). She recently graduated from the University of Iowa with a Ph.D. in Biostatistics (congratulations Melissa on your upcoming graduation this week!!) and will be an Assistant Professor in Biostatistics (tenure-track) this Fall 2022!!!
