Artist, Visionary, Trial Lawyer's Friend

Published
Trevor Goring is a talented visual artist, author, publisher, lecturer, and consultant who has almost 50 years of fine art production experience. For the past few decades, Trevor has worked with the international trial lawyer community, painting portraits of a plethora of legal leaders, including the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Following post graduate studies at Saint Martin's College of Art, London, UK, Trevor began his professional career exhibiting in galleries and museums all while teaching at the Montreal Museum School of Fine Arts. He published French language arts magazines, co-founded a national Canadian arts organization and directed a major public arts center for over a decade.

Since that time, Trevor has become a familiar face at many legal conferences – having attended over 500 legal conferences. His works have appeared on magazine covers, widely used legal textbooks, and hundreds of private, public, and corporate collections.

In 1991, Trevor founded “Images of Justice,” furthering the connection between arts and social justice and researching the visual history and symbolism of law throughout history. He has worked closely with plaintiff’s lawyers and criminal defense attorneys, producing hundreds of original paintings for them. He is the author of two legal art history books: Women in Law and Judges in Time (both available for purchase on Trevor’s website: https://imagesofjustice.org/collections/books), magazine articles, video productions, and public lectures to audiences from myriad groups within the trial lawyer community, including The American Association for Justice, The National College of Advocacy, American Inns of Court, and The American Board of Trial Advocates.

In 2016, Trevor founded the Trial Lawyer National Portrait Gallery (https://www.triallawyerportraits.org/), an online archive of original art documenting and celebrating the trial lawyer community. Through the gallery, Trevor aims to promote an appreciation and understanding of those from our past and present who have made and continue to make important contributions to the criminal and civil justice system in America.
