Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that frequently coexists with psychiatric disorders, the most common of which are anxiety and depression, both of which aggravate metabolic disorders. Unfortunately, mental health issues in this group of patients are underdiagnosed far too frequently; therefore, it is critical to increase awareness of this topic among both doctors and patients.
