Alaa Abdel-Fattah on hunger strike: Egypt puts pro-democracy activist on medical treatment

Concern is growing about the British-Egyptian democracy activist Alaa Abdel Fattah, who five days ago began refusing water as part of a hunger strike. Today, Egyptian prison authorities told his family that he has been placed under medical supervision. Also today, Abdel Fattah's lawyer said he was refused access to visit him, despite being authoritised by the interior ministry. Abdel Fattah is serving a five-year prison sentence for "spreading false news" - after sharing a Facebook post about police brutality. FRANCE 24's correspondent in Cairo, Eduard Cousin, tells us more.
