Adopted Puppy Finds Herself Homeless After Neurological Disorder Comes To Light

Published
Adopted as a sweet little puppy, Ruby found herself in what she thought was her forever home. She had no worries in the world. That is, until neurological issues began to plague her. After that, it was all downhill, and Ruby was left without a home.

The first year of Ruby's life was beautiful. She played, she had a kind home filled with children, and she was cared for. Then, out of nowhere, she started to develop neurological issues. Little ticks here and there that showed something was wrong. For whatever reason though, time passed and Ruby's family chose to not investigate her condition or do any kind of follow-ups. And without medical intervention, Ruby's condition progressed and her family felt it wasn't best to have her in their home with their kids anymore.

Ruby spent the first few months after in the loving care of Live To Love Animal Rescue, who placed her with a foster who was so very devoted to her. But after her foster mother started to experience some health issues herself, the need to find Ruby placement came up again. That's where we came in. After speaking with her foster and a few rescuers at LTLAR, we agreed to bring Ruby into our care so that she could have the best chance at a good life. She is still a puppy that's growing and coming into her own but right now, her neurological signs include walking in circles, fly biting, and overexcitement - so there are quite a few things going on with her. The first order of business will be getting Ruby a neurologic consultation to see what may be causing her ticks and what kind of treatment plan she'll need to best suit her. We will be sure to keep you updated as we help her in her journey but ask that you kindly donate towards her care (consultation, tests, medications, therapy) today if you can. She has a long road of healing and treatment ahead of her but will be worth every little second.
