Addison's Disease + Adrenocorticotropic Hormone (ACTH): Endocrinology – a Deep Dive.

Published
In this video, we will do a deep dive into adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) and its associated hormones: corticotropin releasing hormone, and ADH-P, which will set us up perfectly to discuss primary adrenal insufficiency (Addison's disease). We will learn how ACTH is regulated by cortisol and we will see how stress messes up this double negative feedback inhibition which ultimately causes the over release of cortisol. We will also discuss 21-hydroxylase deficiency and look at the adrenal androgens + what can go wrong if you abuse these androgens.

This video was specifically made for endocrinology: (wk6)(Thurs)(FAll-21)
