Foot and Mouth Disease (Hoof and Mouth Disease)

FMD is caused by a virus of the genus Aphthovirus and affects both domestic and wild ruminants and pigs.

HOW IT SPREADS
1.By skin-to-skin contact
2.By airborne respiratory droplets
3.By saliva

SYMPTOMS
1.Fever.
2.Sore throat.
3.Feeling unwell.Painful, red, blister-like lesions on the tongue, gums and inside of the cheeks.
4.A red rash, without itching but sometimes with blistering, on the palms.
5.Cause death young animal by heart attack.

TREATMENT
1.Apply glycerine in tongue 2.Kmno4 sol wash on affected foot and apply Boric acid powder

CONTROL

1.vaccinate all animal including calf 4month old pregnant animal and Milking animal
2.Don't buy new animal from cow sandy when diseases outbreak time
3.Quarantines and movement restrictions
4.wash hands after contact with livestock
5.keep everything clean
